I think in CHEMINF we point to classes directly... BTW, the feature
values you are talking about are in ChEBI 'roles'... therefore, I
suggest to have a look at how CHEMINF annotates a chemical compound as
a solvent:

It uses the OBO predicate has_role, and points to a class in the ChEBI ontology.

It is outside the scope of the OpenTox project, but I love to see
OpenTox aligned with the CHEMINF ontologies, which may be something we
can do in ToxBank.
